This is a group project which we need to :
- Choose a building with passive design strategy for tropical climate within Klang Valley.
- Have a thorough research on the passive design strategies, the principles and details needed for these passive design strategies to perform best in tropical climate and to achieve thermal comfort in this building/space.
- Identify the passive design strategies and the environmental factors within this place. Record and reference your data in tables highlighting importance to your study.
- Analyze the monitored measurement, environmental factor, people and space in diagrams, sections and plans.
- Explain how the environment of your case study is affected from natural and man-made factors.
- Identify issues if there is and propose a passive solution.
Through this project, I was able to have a deeper understanding and knowledge on how to implement passive design into buildings to achieve light sufficiency and efficiency within the building. I was also able to learn more about the passive design strategy in building design. Therefore, I can apply my knowledge in building design into my studio project to improve my architectural design.
